Moduwool - Circular Cities Challenge

Moduwool - Circular Cities Challenge

Over 75% of wool in Europe is wasted, deemed low quality for making textiles or the production process is too expensive/underdeveloped. Our Distributed Design Circular Cities Challenge project with Reimagine Textile explored accessible uses for the wool waste in Catalunya, preventing it from landfill or incineration.

We designed these modular acoustic panels using felted wool and left over compostable grocery bags, here exhibited at Cosmo Caixa in Barcelona. It was lovely to work with a group of interdisciplinary designers and in line with the Distributed Design values: open, collaborative, ecosystemic and regenerative!

My team: Lucy Bowen Marielle Wall, Davide Onestini, Carla Molina Pitarch, Carolina Forss and I were honored to recieve the Best Work of the CCC title by public vote.
